Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii- Challenge #2

Happy Aloha Friday and hope your day is just as beautiful, wherever you may be, as it is in Hawaii. This has got to be one of the most beautiful days, anyone could ask for. Bright, sunny, blue skies, and a nice breeze with the fragrance of the plumeria flowers in the air. Wow!!! God is truly so good and it is by His hands that this great beauty was created. My girls are off in the family room entertaining one another and just laughing and giggling away. I love it. As their mommy, it blesses my heart to hear (and see) the joy in their spirit and their little hearts. I am truly blessed. Thank you Lord!

Now, as for the week's SSH challenge, we were given this very beautiful image to work off of. Check out those colors. Don't they make the prettiest combo? Yes, the layout and details are great but...I was so inspired by the color combo. Very gorgeous and vibrant. However I selected only certain colors to work with and this is what I ended up with...

I was so inspired by the beautiful Accordion bags/purses that Maria (Stampin' Inspirations...) created and decided to take a try at it. My 11 y/o needed a gift holder to put her little bags of trinkets in, that she will be giving to one of her girlfriends. Perfect! I had the perfect gift holder in mind, for her. So there I went, on to creating it. Of course I geared toward the younger age.

I love the "Girlie" images from Penny Black. As I mentioned earlier, it reminds me much of my girls. This image "Always Here", the DS paper kit "Blossom", and the designer ribbons are just a few of many items sold at Little C's.

Just as any other project, the measurements of this Accordion Purse can be adjusted according to one's needs. In our case, this will suit the need of the little trinket gift bags just perfectly.

Purse Details:
Stamp: "Always Here" by Penny Black (Little C's)
Paper: "Blossom" kit by Three Bugs...(Little C's)
Ink: SU! markers
Accessories: ribbons, stickles, designer brad, scallop & circle punches, oval nesties, CB Dots folder.

I appreciate you stopping by. Pop on in at Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii to check out what the rest of the DT's came up with. Hope you will be inspired. Till then...Aloha and God bless~

Always Remember...

This evening I share with you a project we did at Jen's (Pieces of Me), for the Glama Gurlz gathering. I kinda added a little more embellishing (just a tiny bit) than what the sample showed. To get a better idea, check out this really cute one done by Jen and...for more flavor, check out Maria's, whom the actual idea originated from. Thanks Jen and Maria. It was fun!

I used digital images from Nancy Kubo designs, scallop circle nesties, pink gem stones, cuttlebug folder, DS paper, and both solid & printed ribbon.

I decided to go all "Stickled" out which began with the flower. The sentiment "Always remember..." is a sticker from one of my paper kits.

The pretty lil' butterfly is also with stickles.

Here's a peek of the inside. Left side is intended to post little notes, using the butterfly magnet. Yes, there's a magnet somewhere under him (lol). Right side holds a mini calendar and a pad of "Post It's". A decorated pen was also included but... I think some sticky little fingers got a hold of it. And now, the pen disappears, ugh.......

Thank you for stopping by. Till tomorrow...Aloha and God bless~

Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii's Featured "Aloha" Blogger...

If you haven't heard by now, Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii now features "Aloha" Bloggers. Honoring our talented sisters from the beautiful "Aloha" state, Hawaii. Every other week SSH will highlight the selected "Aloha" blogger, interviewing her and displaying her response along with some of her creative projects. The SSH design team are then challenged to share, through their creation(s), of how our "Aloha" blogger has blessed and inspired them. Please be sure to pop on in and see all the fun and buzz going on at Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii.

Before you do however, I would like to bless and share with you our very first "Aloha" blogger. Please help me celebrate HER...Michelle of Mushi's Creative Inspirations.

As to many of you, Michelle has been such an inspiration to me in many ways. However when I think of Michelle's creations, the first that comes to mind, are all the many projects she so easily puts together. I love her variety in bags and totes, which is why I chose to create off of her "Tote Bag with Matching Note Cards".

And, here is my version...

This cute tote holds (4) 3x3 note cards with envies and... there's still lots more room to throw a few extra goodies in it, believe it or not.

Project Details:
Image: Himawari's "Princess Carina Ballerina"
Paper: DCWV DS Paper (LittleC's)
Accessories: eyelets, scallop & circle punch, ribbon, and "All Natural Accents" (LittleC's)

Thank you for peeking in. Please be sure to check out SSH's highlight on Michelle along with the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT's. While there, bless them with a word of encouragement. Till then, may you have a very blessed weekend in the Lord and...ALOHA!

Heartfelt Thanks...

What a beautiful day it was here in Hawaii. The day went by so fast, I almost forgot to post this card...oops!

Sharing with you from one of my most favorite stamp companies...Sarah Kay. Her images are just too precious, sweet, and innocent. At least that's my impression, when I see them. I am so drawn to them and I know it's due to me having three little girls of my own. This stamp set is called "My Sweet Lili". I colored it using my SU! markers. To embellish, I added some blue gem stones, ribbon, and prima flowers. All of which, can be purchased from Little C's. The DS paper and card stock are from SU! and the sentiment was computer generated. Not bad huh!?!
Here's an up close shot of the "bling". I actually like how that turned out on the card.
Giving you a side view from a different angle.
As for the inner part of the card, I was actually debating whether or not I should add a sentiment. I haven't yet decided so...I'll just leave it for now. That's the beauty of creating our own cards, wouldn't you say!?! We can change it up (or down), anytime we want to (lol).

Card Details:
Stamp: "My Sweet Lili" (Sarah Kay)
Paper: DS and Stock (SU!)
Ink: SU! markers
Sentiment: computer generated
Accessories: gem stones, ribbons, & prima flowers (Little C's)

I'm happy you stopped by. Have a wonderful and blessed evening, ALOHA!!!

Pure Joy...

Hope you all are having a wonderful "Aloha" Friday. It's been a busy but very blessed day, in our household. Got lots to do...does it ever stop !?! (lol). Looking forward to our Glama Gurlz gathering tomorrow with the very talented sisters, here in Hawaii.

Okay now, this newest card created was actually inspired by my 11 y/o daughter. Colors, paper, embellishments, and image were all selected by her and her HEAVY encouragement (lol). All I needed to do was, the layout and puttin' it all together. How easy huh!?! Not to mention fun. Anyway, when she selected the image, automatically I said "Oh how cute...for you and your two sisters!" She says.."No mom. It's for me, Bella, & Malia (her two bestest friends)". Oh well, I tried =0)

So here is what we came up with...

The DS paper is part of the "Blossom" kit from Three Bugs in a Rug. This kit is great. It has everything you need to create the perfect card or scrapbook page. The sentiment "Pure Joy" is an actual sticker, also included in this kit. As for the stamp, this cute image is "Girls Rock" from Penny Black. I own several of their "Girlie" images. Not only are they cute but, I just think of my three girls whenever I come across girlie stamps. We also applied stickles on the girls clothing and hair, giving it a little sparkle.

Both "Blossom" kit and Penny Black stamps can be purchased from Jen of Little C's. Pop on over and check out her goods.
Below is what we decided to do on the inner part of the card. The corner pieces are also stickers, included in the "Blossom" kit. Cool huh!?! Well, this too was a fun card to work on.
Card Details:
Stamp: "Girls Rock" (Penny Black)
Paper: colored stock and DS paper (Three Bugs in a Rug)
Ink: SU! markers, versa craft black ink
Accessories: felt flower/button(Hero Arts), ribbon, stickles, gold cord, CB embossing folder

Thank you for stopping by. Be blessed!

Happy Birthday Cupcake...

Nightie night all. Didn't realize how late it was, time to head for the bed. Before I do however, I'll post a real quickie (I think).

Lately I've noticed birthdays are popping up all around us. I love just going through my stash of cards and pulling one out. But...this last time, I had none. None for "boys", that is. I don't know about you all but, I have the hardest time creating "boy" cards. It's sooooo easy for me, when it comes to girls but boys...YIKES! So, I took a shot at it and this is what I came up with.
Okay, well...let's say, I'm gettin' closer (lol). At least with these colors this card can be given to either gender. Anyhow, making this card was fun. I used the set "Cupcakes" from Hero Arts. The cupcake, candles, and sentiments are all part of this fun set. I loved it. As a matter of fact, the buttons are too, from Hero Arts. As for the DS paper, it's part of a premium pad from DCWV and the markers used for coloring are SU!
To add a little pazazz...I paper pieced the paper cup, completely covered the orange frosting with lacquer glass, and used some colored glass beads as the sprinkles on the cupcake. Once the lacquer and beads set in, IRL, it's really pretty. I finished it by adding some pop dots behind the image, elevating it. As for the candles, to give it some glare, I added stickles to each one, flame and all.
Here's the side view from another angle.
This is the inner part of the card. Again the sentiment and candles are both from this cupcake set.

Okay, that's it for now. Thank you, thank you, thank you for popping in. I will see you tomorrow. Till then have a very blessed evening. Aloha and God bless~

Altered Notepads Take Four...

Okay, okay, okay...this is the last set of notepads made for our campers, that I will be sharing. Thanks for hanging in there. Just a quick post for today.

By now you should know it's Nancy Kubo's "Aloha Cuties" digital images used to create this notepad cover. Yep it was very easy to work with. Just embellish and...you're done! Again, just as all the other sets, dew drops, flowers, and stickles were used to create these 5x8 notepad covers.

Thank you for your visit today. Be blessed!

Altered Notepad Take Three...

First of all...Happy Aloha Friday all and hope you have a very blessed and safe weekend. Now...

Here's the third set. Using Nancy Kubo's "Aloha Cuties" to create these 5x8 covers for my notepads was such a cinch. No coloring involved. Just embellish and...you're done. Loved it!

Again, using dew drops, flowers, and a variety of stickles (all over the image). Easy peasy!

Thanks for blessing me with your visit today. Again, have a safe weekend and remember...Jesus loves you!

Altered Notepad Take Two...

Here's a second set of the notepads made for our campers.

Again, using Nancy Kubo's "Aloha Cuties" digital images. Added some dew drops, flowers, and stickles. It's hard to tell but just as the first (hula girl) set, stickles were added to the image, giving it a different touch. Circle nesties were also used to create the scalloped circle.

Very simple and quick project being that NO coloring was involved. I loved it!

Hope you enjoyed your visit. I appreciate you stopping by. Have a very blessed day in the Lord!

Altered Notepads For...Some Special Little Ladies!

A l o o o o o o h a...to all of you, my stamping sisters! First of all I must say a big THANK YOU to all of you whom were so faithful, sweet, concerned, and encouraging. You have blessed me so much by your continuous visits, emails, and harassment's (lol). I had no choice but...to return (lol). What intended to be a one week break, ended in a 4 1/2 month disappearing act. I had the hardest time budging and gettin' out of, what I found to be, my comfort zone. Thank you, thank you, thank you for staying on top of me. I so much appreciate you all.

I didn't do much creating during the long break. However, the little that I did do, I would love to share it with you.

My daughter and I had just returned from Awana Camp. As one of the camp counselors, I needed to donate an item to contribute to 28 goodie bags for the girls (ages 10-13). Perfect! I have the supplies but had no idea of what to create. Thanks to Jen (Pieces of Me) and Jenny (Jenny's Creations) for their brilliance. With only a few days to create 28 pieces, I decided to (kinda) duplicate Jen's notepad. Her's were so pretty but, because my recipients were little young ladies, I decided to simplify my version. I didn't have much time to color so Jenny shared the brilliant idea of creating with a pre-colored digi image. This was the best idea EVER. I've never worked with digitals and now I LOVE IT! Omgosh...it was so fast.

To create my (28) notepads, I used four different digi images from Nancy Kubo's "Aloha Cuties" and made sets. Here is the first set...

The cover is measured out to 5 x 8. One pad was created with a solid background, the other with a printed. Added flowers from All Natural Accents, some dew drops, and stickles.

To add a different touch to the image, I applied stickles all over, using different shades.
For the little time invested to create these, they came out perfect. Perfect for the age range, I was targeting. The little ladies were so appreciative, which made it all worth it. Please tune in tomorrow, I will share the next set. Till then...

It's great to be back and, MAHALO NUI LOA!!!
